The title is meaningless, just liked the sound of it.
I have realised I am sick to the gills with everything digital. PC, internet, games, all of it. Thinking of living a life free of it, just turn the clock back a mere thirty years when I coped quite happily without mobile phones, sms messaging, internet, e-mail, etc.
Everything drags us to the PC now. I used to do photography, in a darkroom…now it is on the PC
Writing, on paper or typewriter…..now it is the PC, TV on the PC, DVD on the PC, telephone calls via VOIP, blah, blah, blah.
DVD,SMS,VOIP,PC,HTML…how about this one…S.T.R.E.S.S.
I would say that about 80% of the digital age experience is STRESS, be it the pointless spam in the inbox, trawling the web for information that is, more than likely, inaccurate, or for drivers which you cannot find and you need to get a part of the PC working, and if you do find it, will it install and then go wrong causing more stress. No, I have had it with it all.
I do not think I will miss it, it is a great way to communicate, but then there is all that spam. If friends want to keep in touch by landline or letter they can, The biggest loss I can foresee is business and career possibilities that are widened and enhanced if you have internet access, but I think I will just disappear, get myself a no future job by the sea somewhere and forget about creativity, writing, photography and everything.
